Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter? I have been to a session in the Pipeline Time Trials and in the Mt Wellington Running Festival's 10km (my husband, Richard, did the half marathon). I thought it was great, especially the positive and friendly atmosphere. I am a beginning runner with an extremely busy lifestyle - I work and have three young children. Thanks for the time and enthusiasm you have put into Find Your Feet, I hope in the future myself and my family will be more involved.

Hanny Allston, has been a fantastic attribute to our wellness committee. By facilitating our meetings Hanny has enabled us to set achievable goals each session and formulate some great positive discussions.
So far in only a few weeks the goals that we are in the process of achieving include: understanding employee’s nutritional habits; developing a site newsletter and setting plans for a biggest loser competition.
We look forward to seeing how these goals will benefit the health and wellness of our employees and their families.

I started training with 'Find your Feet' in late 2009 specifically to attempt a 10 kilometre PB in the inaugural 2010 'Hobart Run The Bridge' race. This was a challenging goal given the hilly course and being a senior runner (let's just say over 50). I knew I would need to do quality training. I am happy to say that 'Find Your Feet' provided me with this. The Pipeline Track Time Trial Series on Wednesday evenings were hard work at times, but were always enjoyable. Above all, Hanny fostered a genuine camaraderie amongst all who took part.
For anyone wishing to improve their running, I would highly recommend that they join in with any of the programs offered by 'Find your Feet'. And do not be put off at all by your own perceived 'slowness'. Hanny has created a training regimen that is genuinely open to runners of all abilities. Not only will you improve your fitness and running abilities, but you are bound to make some new friends as well. And yes - I nearly forgot - I got that PB - yippee! John Moody |
My best moment in Find Your Feet so far was that "buzz" I got from the first time I attended the weekly running sessions. What an inspiration! I joined Find Your Feet only a few weeks ago and I have already learnt so much about improving my running technique. Hanny conducts each session with a professional, supportive and enthusiasic manner. She caters for runners of all abilities while engaging the whole group. Overall, I have found training with Find Your Feet to be fun, enjoyable and extremely motivating. Claire Huxtable |
My husband and I run on Monday and Thursday nights with Find your Feet. We have enjoyed working at our own level, being encouraged by everyone and improving with Hanny's guidance. One of the things Hanny does well is encourage everyone to participate at their own level in both training and events. It does not matter one bit what level you are at.
My family, including two teenage boys, joined Find Your Feet teams for the Bruny Island Ultra Marathon (64 km from Dennes Point to the Lighthouse). My eldest son does very little exercise, my husband is an average runner and I am very slow at running, yet there is room for all of us at Find Your Feet.
We all applied ourselves to the best of our abilities, had fun, and developed a sense of camaraderie with our team as well as all the other competitors in the event. My boys were proud of their achievements and full of energy for the rest of the day. As a family, we got to share the experience with the benefit of fresh air and exercise.
I recommend Find Your Feet for ANYONE who wants to be a better runner! Heather Christian - Remedial Massage Therapist |
My motivation for joining Find Your Feet was to develop a training program for the inaugural Run the Bridge race in February this year. I had run some fun runs in previous years but my first 10km was looming and my confidence was low. Around a dozen training sessions and I was able to run the entire 10kms in less than one hour - I was on such a high.
I have now run four 10km runs with improving times. The other amazing benefit from Find Your Feet has been the friendships and support that have resulted. I talk to fellow "Find Your Feeters' at the start of the race and share great race stories at the finish line. It makes running and competing so much more enjoyable.
I love the both the physical and social benefits that Find Your Feet provides. Thank you so much Hanny!! Wendy Spencer |
I joined Find Your Feet to live a happier and healthy balanced life. I believe that if I have the necessary coaching and training in place that I could be a quite a good long distance runner. I feel so unfit since being out of action for nearly eighteen months. I think my life needs a change in direction and hopefully this is a small step in the right direction. I am inspired by Find Your Feet to maybe someday organise a run where all the proceeds go to a chosen charity. I have often thought of doing something like this. There is something about running where everything else in life switches off, its golden! And when you add the friendly Find Your Feet faces to it all, it is all very inspiring!

I started Hanny's Pipeline Track Time Trial Series and though it was a kind of torture, I kept on coming back... for some strange reason. Although Hanny is an elite athlete, I get the impression that she actually cares for the rank and file of her runners, which is probably a rare quality these days. Nick Hardy |
My favourite memory so far is the heightened senses - smell and sound - I experienced when running the bush tracks on the foothills of Mt Nelson through gentle mizzle on a ‘Touched by the Moon’ evening run. But really, I love it all - the sheer joy of running; the great people and the camaraderie! Quite simply, Find Your Feet has transformed my life! Annie Hunt |
I have loved my time at Find Your Feet - Chatting to all the Find Your Feet people while we were waitng to start the City to Casino Fun Run was such a highlight. I probably would have driven straight home if I hadn't had them all there to encourage me and reassure me! Lauren Abbot |
My best experience so far in Find Your Feet was completing my first half marathon at the Cadbury Marathon in January 2010. And then there were those amazing mornings up through the hills of South Hobart when Find Your Feet was first beginning. They were fun, beautiful mornings with beautiful people, beautilful country side and some interesting smells drifting in on the morning breeze. I am glad that you pushed me up those hills as I can really notice the benefit now, and am starting to turn that weakness into a strength. Peter Klemencic |
A short note to say thanks for organising the Pipeline Track Time Trial Series. It was a nice change to run with a group. The tips you passed on each week have also been incorporated and has allowed be to see improvement in my trail running. Michael Meredith |
