What we're up to this week
Thoughts for the day
- No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
- When in doubt, just take the next small step.

HANNY IS OFF ON VACATION: FIND YOUR FEET WELCOMES ANDY ALLISON!
Whilst I am adventuring the wilds of Eastern Africa, Tasmanian distance running icon, Andy Allison will become our official Find Your Feet Group Run Leader. Although Andy has a huge range of skills from his diverse career background, he is now working as a personal trainer. Andy will be a fantastic addition to our team and will be available to assist you with all your athletic needs. I highly recommend talking to Andy about your physical and strength conditioning programs. Andy will be attending our Monday night runs until my departure so come along and say hi. Thanks Andy!

Come along to our running sessions at The Running Edge on Monday and Thursday 5.30pm for a 5.45pm - 6.20pm running session and get some extra tips!
CONGRATULATIONS IAN DONNELLY On Saturday 7th August 2010, Ian Donnelly won the Froggy Wise Memorial Handicap Cross-Country race held at Hobart's Waterworks Reserve. This was an outstanding effort and goes to show that a lot of dedication and commitment to training will pay off! Ian is a super dedicated member of Find Your Feet's weekly running groups with his partner Rose. He also enjoys to cycle, preferring to head out on the mountain bike. Congratulations Ian! On another positive note, a little birdy recently informed us that Ruth Jones, a member of Find Your Feet for around 2 months, yesterday competed in the Budget 5km Fun Run. Prior to joining Find Your Feet, Ruth had a personal best time of 35 minutes for the 5km. Yesterday, Ruth ran a huge 32mins47secs. Well done Ruth!

WELCOME to all our new members
It has been great to see all the new faces at our evening sessions. I am especially excited to see some parents beginning to bring their adolescent sons or daughters for a run with us - EVERYONE IS WELCOME. Parents who join our group really do set a great example of health and well-being for their children and I encourage everyone to continue leading by example. Don't forget, you don't have to be a runner to join in and enjoy yourself and feel free to contact me at any time if you have any queries or concerns - Han

Participant Feedbacks
I started training with 'Find your Feet' in late 2009 specifically to attempt a 10 kilometre PB in the inaugural 2010 'Hobart Run The Bridge' race. This was a challenging goal given the hilly course and being a senior runner (let's just say over 50). I knew I would need to do quality training. I am happy to say that 'Find Your Feet' provided me with this. The Pipeline Track Time Trial Series on Wednesday evenings were hard work at times, but were always enjoyable. Above all, Hanny fostered a genuine camaraderie amongst all who took part. |
I have been to a session in the Pipeline Time Trials and in the Mt Wellington Running Festival's 10km (my husband, Richard, did the half marathon). I thought it was great, especially the positive and friendly atmosphere. I am a beginning runner with an extremely busy lifestyle - I work and have three young children. Thanks for the time and enthusiasm you have put into Find Your Feet, I hope in the future myself and my family will be more involved.
