Sorry for my absence

I am sorry to all my viewers for not keeping my website up to date recently. Lots has been happening!

I have actually been beavering away with our fabulous web designer Beat in Switzerland on my other website... http://www.findyourfeet.com.au.  It will soon be up and running so stay tuned!  There has been so much happening in Find Your Feet at the moment and I can’t wait to launch our new site to share it all with you.

In regards to my own sporting career, things have not been so smooth recently.  I have made the decision (an exciting one at that!) to change coaches.  My new fabulously fun, knowledgeable and energetic coach is Richard Welsh.  Originally from Albury, Richard now lives in Hobart and works within Athletics Tasmania.  He has many other strings to his bow including a journalist for Run 4 Your Life (he gets to try the cool new products and write about them... you should see his shoe and gadget collection!), a website reporter for Athletics Australia, and recently he even became a photographer (although he was questioning his skills).  Richard’s next exciting adventure is to become... a husband!  Best wishes.  Together we are setting big goals and preparing for the upcoming winter season.  We will also be working closely with physiotherapist and running strength specialist, Matt Lancaster.  Thanks guys for your assistance!

With all the changes recently and perhaps a little unspecific over-training I have been struggling in my races.  I have participated in three 5km races recently with each one progressively getting slower.  But I have tried to use each as an experience, analyse the performance, and move forwards.  It is hard to finish a race knowing you can run a good couple of minutes faster but you need these races to make you stronger... to desire a greater result and get the fire back in your belly.  This weekend I will be racing the Tasmanian State Championships as the final races of my season.  I am actually going to run an 800m as well as a 5000m!  I am rewarding myself for doing these races with a triathlon at Freycinet National Park the following weekend – 1.9km swim (eek!!), 52km road cycle (uh oh!!), and a 10km run (thank goodness!!).  Then it is back to training and goal setting phase.
